Short answer
What is customs clearance?
Customs clearance is getting your goods legally released by Indian Customs. Lozy prepares and files the Bill of Entry for imports or the Shipping Bill for exports, handles assessment and duty payment, answers any query or examination, and arranges delivery once the goods are released. Delhi NCR filings — Tughlakabad, Patparganj, Dadri and IGI Airport — are an everyday run for the desk.
What’s included
Everything between your cargo landing and your cargo leaving the port.
HS code classification
Each product matched to the right 8-digit tariff code, which sets your duty rate and any licence you need.
Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill
Import and export declarations filed on ICEGATE, with invoices, packing lists and transport documents checked first.
Duty and tax worked out
Basic Customs Duty, Social Welfare Surcharge and IGST calculated in advance, so you know the landed cost before arrival.
Queries and examination
If customs raises a query or orders an inspection, we respond, attend and keep the shipment moving.
Other department approvals
Where another regulator has to sign off, we coordinate that approval alongside customs.
Release and onward delivery
Once the Out of Charge order is issued, cargo moves to your site or straight into a Lozy warehouse.
Where your Bill of Entry gets filed
One desk, filing at Delhi NCR’s ICDs and at India’s gateway ports. The entry point is chosen for your delivery city, the vessel or flight timing and the duty you will pay.

Frequently asked questions
Can’t see your question? Ask it in the quote form and we’ll answer it with your quote.
How long does customs clearance take in India?
It depends on the port, the goods and whether customs orders an examination. Complete, correct documents are the biggest factor you control, which is why we check everything before your goods ship.
What is a Bill of Entry?
It’s the import declaration filed with Indian Customs. It lists what you’re importing, its value and HS code, and it’s the basis on which duty is assessed.
What is an Out of Charge order?
It’s the customs order that lets imported goods leave the port or airport after assessment and duty payment.
What happens if customs examines my shipment?
Customs may open and inspect goods to check them against the declaration. We coordinate the examination and answer questions so the shipment can be released as soon as possible.
Do I need to be present for clearance?
No. With your authorisation and documents in place, we deal with customs for you and update you at each stage.
Can Lozy clear my shipment at ICD Tughlakabad or IGI Airport?
Yes — Tughlakabad and IGI Airport are the desk’s busiest entry points, and the same team files at every other NCR ICD and at the coastal ports. Tell us the delivery city and we will file where clearance moves fastest.
