Short answer

What does Lozy’s customs service cover?

Lozy clears imports and exports through Indian Customs, acts as Importer or Exporter of Record when you have no local set-up, delivers duty-paid, arranges cargo cover, helps recover IGST and duty, sorts product compliance, and stores goods in bonded or regular warehouses across our network. Delhi NCR is home ground: the desk files at the NCR ICDs and at every major gateway port, and cleared cargo can move straight into a Lozy warehouse.

Ports and ICDs we clear through

Delhi NCR first, then every major gateway. Containers move between the coastal ports and the NCR ICDs by rail and road, and we file at whichever entry point your delivery city needs.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t see your question? Ask it in the quote form and we’ll answer it with your quote.

What is customs clearance?

It’s the process of getting goods legally released by customs. For imports into India, that means filing a Bill of Entry on ICEGATE, getting the goods assessed, paying duty and receiving an Out of Charge order before the cargo can leave the port or airport.

Do I need an IEC to import into India?

Usually, yes. Businesses need an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) from DGFT to import or export. If you don’t have one, or have no Indian entity, Lozy can act as your Importer of Record.

How are customs duties worked out in India?

Duty is calculated on the assessable value of the goods, usually their CIF value, using the HS code. It typically includes Basic Customs Duty, Social Welfare Surcharge and IGST, and sometimes other levies.

Can Lozy store my goods after clearance?

Yes. Cleared goods can move straight into a Lozy warehouse. If you’d rather defer duty, they can be held in a customs bonded warehouse and cleared in parts.

How do I get a quote?

Share what you’re shipping, its HS code or a product description, the value, origin and destination. We’ll reply with duties, taxes and our charges itemised.

Which ports and ICDs does Lozy clear through?

Delhi NCR first: ICD Tughlakabad, Patparganj, Dadri, NSEZ Noida, Loni, Garhi Harsaru, Ballabhgarh, Patli, Rewari, Palwal, Sonepat and Panipat, plus IGI Airport for air freight. At the coast, the desk files at the major gateway ports, from JNPT, Mundra and Pipavav to Chennai, Cochin and Kolkata–Haldia. We pick the entry point that fits your delivery city.
