How much does it cost to rent a warehouse in India?
Warehouse rent in India is quoted per square foot per month and depends on three things: the micro-market (Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and similar markets price differently), the specification (Grade A shed versus a basic godown) and the term you commit to. Peripheral locations on national highways are usually cheaper than in-city space. Request a quote and each Lozy option is stated with its per-sq-ft rate, deposit and inclusions.
How much is warehouse space per square foot?
Rates move with the micro-market and the property. Rather than quote a single national figure, Lozy states the rate for the specific facility and size you are considering, in writing, with your quote. Browse the facility pages for locations and request pricing for the one that fits.
How much do storage units cost per month?
Self storage is billed monthly by unit size — Small (5' × 5', about 25 sq ft), Medium (10' × 10', about 100 sq ft), Large (20' × 20', about 400 sq ft) and Extra Large (25' × 25', about 625 sq ft). Billing is monthly with a GST invoice and no lock-in. Request the current price for the size you need.
What is a godown?
Godown is the everyday Indian word for a storage building — usually a simple, secure structure used to hold goods, stock or records. It is the same idea as a warehouse; "warehouse" tends to describe larger, better-specified industrial space, while "godown" is the term most traders use for practical storage. Lozy offers both storage units and warehouse space.
What is the difference between a godown and a warehouse?
A godown is typically a basic, single-purpose storage building, while a warehouse is generally larger and better specified — higher clear height, proper loading docks, fire safety systems and structured access controls. Which one you need depends on the goods, the volume and how often you need access.
What is a mini warehouse?
A mini warehouse is a small, self-contained storage unit — from about 25 sq ft upward — that a household or small business rents on its own. It combines the security of a warehouse with the flexibility of self storage, and is commonly used for furniture, records, equipment and stock overflow.
Is GST applicable on warehouse rent?
Warehouse and storage rent in India is generally subject to GST, and the rate that applies depends on the nature of the service and the recipient. Lozy bills monthly and issues a GST invoice, and the applicable tax is shown clearly on every quote — ask the team to confirm the rate for your requirement.
What size storage unit do I need?
As a guide: a 1BHK household usually fits in a Small to Medium unit (25–100 sq ft), a 2BHK in a Medium unit (about 100 sq ft), a 3BHK in a Large unit (about 400 sq ft), and a 4BHK or a full business inventory in an Extra Large unit (about 625 sq ft). Share your inventory list and the team will suggest the smallest unit that fits.
Can I store furniture long term?
Yes. Furniture stores well when it is clean, dry, wrapped and lifted off the floor. Climate-controlled, CCTV-monitored facilities protect against damp, dust and pests, and monthly billing means you are not paying for a full year upfront.
Do you provide pickup and delivery?
Doorstep pickup and delivery is available across Lozy's service areas. Tell us what needs moving when you request a quote and the team confirms scope and timing.
Is my stored inventory insured?
Insurance cover for stored goods can be arranged, and the terms are confirmed in writing with your quote. Tell the team what you are storing — high-value or fragile items may need specific cover.
What cannot be stored?
Flammable and hazardous materials, illegal items, live animals, and perishables without prior approval cannot be stored. For irreplaceable valuables and documents of title, a bank locker is the right place — storage is for goods, inventory, furniture and records.
What is the minimum storage period?
Billing is monthly with no lock-in, so you are not tied into a long contract. That suits renovation, relocation, seasonal stock and project-based storage.
How quickly can I move my goods in?
Availability changes daily. Share your requirement and the team confirms the earliest move-in date along with your quote — in most cases a unit or bay can be allocated as soon as the paperwork and first invoice are done.
